I was recently asked to be a Special Guest Presenter for Hashlugradio, which is the fortnightly “podcast about the podcast” about LUG-Radio.

It was quite interesting doing the recording and also a lot of fun, mainly because the others (the ‘regulars’ as it were) are all good blokes and very funny. It’s worth pointing out that this recording was made whilst all the presenters (including me) were in separate physical locations: we were using Skype to talk to each other in real time. For those who don’t know, this basically gave us the internet equivalent of a conference telephone call.
We had some interesting discussions – see the download link for a summary of the topics. While we were talking, we were also all on IRC at the same time, so that the occasional comment was passed between us such as “You sound a bit quiet”, “Is that better?”, “I’m trying a different microphone – can you hear me?” and so on. At one stage, Xalior (who had been having some minor sound problems) tried a new mike and immediately starting TALKING LIKE THIS. Aquarion dropped the words “VOICE OF GOD” into IRC which left about half of the presenters, me included, in fits of hysterical laughter for quite some time. I cracked up each time, later in the recording, I looked back at the IRC channel, so in the end I had to hide the IRC window 😉
All in all, great fun … thanks to Xalior, Neuro, Aquarion and MrBen for inviting me. And, dotwaffle, sorry you couldn’t (quite) make it.
