Couple of interesting news snippets I spotted today:
Was amused to read this story where a woman had a heart attack and was saved by “a plane full of cardiologists” on their way to Orlando for a conference.
I also note with interest that Tim Berners-Lee, the bloke who effectively “invented the web” (not the entire net, just the web), has been awarded a knighthood.
My favourites of 2003:
- Book: ‘Mindstar Rising’ – Peter F Hamilton
- Film: “Lord of the Rings: Two Towers”, seen right back in January
- CD: To be ‘loyal’ I’d have to say ‘Pop Art’ by the Pet Shop Boys, but if pushed I’d actually have to give the nod to the compilation ‘Dark Side of the 80s’ (including stuff by The Mission, Sisters Of Mercy etc.).
I’ll probably make the same New Year’s resolutions that I make each year, which will give a clue as to how successful I am at keeping them … Happy New Year!
🙂
