Twenty-three questions

This quiz/survey/thing seems to be doing the rounds at the moment:

1: Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4. Write down what
it says:

“The FAA ordered the skies cleared. Within two and a half hours, all 4500 planes
were on the ground.” (Bruce Schneier’s ‘Beyond Fear’)

2: Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first?

The door to my office, propped open.

3: What is the last thing you watched on TV?

This morning, BBC Breakfast News.

4: WITHOUT LOOKING, guess what the time is:

09:10

5: Now look at the clock; what is the actual time?

09:18

6: With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?

Over the sound of my headphones, playing Enigma’s first album “MCMXC A.D.”, I
can hear the tape drive in the corner of my office rewinding with a high-pitched
whirring-sound, someone in the office opposite ripping up cardboard boxes and
some people talking in the foyer outside.

7: When did you last step outside? What were you doing?

Biking to work this morning.

8: Before you came to this website, what did you look at?

Slashdot

9: What are you wearing?

Tatty old T-shirt and shorts, due to above-mentioned bike ride. Plan to change
shortly 😉

10: Did you dream last night?

Not that I remember.

11: When did you last laugh?

Last big laugh was our almost-three-year-old daughter doing a hamster impression
by putting one grape into each cheek … 😉

12: What is on the walls of the room you are in?

Shelves full of computer manuals, some boxed software, various PC components,
recordable CDs, DVDs and backup tapes.

13: Seen anything weird lately?

Oh, yes.

14: What do you think of this quiz?

Slightly interesting, I suppose.

15: What is the last film you saw?

At the cinema, “Lord of the Rings: Return of the King”; on TV, apart from kids
stuff with daughter, probably “Phone Booth”.

16: If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first?

A secret underground lair, perhaps in a hollowed-out volcano.

17: Tell me something about you that I don’t know.

I had an omelette for lunch on Thursday in the work canteen.

18: If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or
politics, what would you do?

Make everyone accountable for every little thing they do.

19: Do you like to dance?

Only for my almost-three-year-old daughter …

20: George Bush: is he a power-crazy nutcase or some one who is finally doing
something that has needed to be done for years?

Well, I would say that the world is undoubtedly a much less safe place for
*everyone* since Bush was elected US President.

21: Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?

Well, my first child *is* a girl and we called her Heather.

22: Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him?

We were planning on Ross.

23: Would you ever consider living abroad?

Probably not.
