It has been an interesting year.<\/p>\n<p>Work-wise there have been big changes: the premises move, a new PFY and our project to go from &#8220;Netware-3&#8221; to &#8220;Netware-Free&#8221; within the first two months of 2006.<\/p>\n<p>On the home front during this Holiday Season, Santa has brought me some nice things:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Star Wars III on DVD (haven&#8217;t yet seen this, nor did I get to see it at the cinema);<\/li>\n<li>Terry Pratchett&#8217;s &#8220;Thud&#8221; &#8211; I&#8217;ve not bought <em>myself<\/em> a Pratchett for years.  The new books seem to be released at &#8220;around birthday time&#8221; and at &#8220;around Christmas&#8221;, making it ideal present-fodder;<\/li>\n<li>A pair of long-range walkie-talkies, which are considerably more fun than you might expect, if you&#8217;ve never had any \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0330492497\/\">The Third World War<\/a> by Humphrey Hawksley, which sounds very interesting;<\/li>\n<li>The singles collection from New Order on CD, cunningly entitled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/B000B9UHSU\/\">Singles<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>The BBC&#8217;s &#8220;QI&#8221; interactive DVD, which is basically a quiz, really.  Should be good, though;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The dust has now settled on the festivities and life will be returning to normal on Tuesday.  As always, I won&#8217;t be making any New Year&#8217;s Resolutions: on the few occasions in the past when I&#8217;ve made them, they&#8217;ve been rubbish.<\/p>\n<p>And of course we have a leap second to &#8220;look forward to&#8221; at the end of 2005.  I&#8217;ll be asleep, but sleeping contentedly in the knowledge that we are all keeping our clocks in sync with the Earth.
