Blaster suspect

Apparently the FBI have a suspect for the recent Blaster worm. Plenty of discussion about the case at Slashdot, as usual.

Farewell then, Mr Campbell

Following my previous note about Alastair Campbell, it seems that he is to resign.

If only Alastair Campbell had read this

I was amused to read this article which describes how the British government have got into trouble by failing to appreciate that Microsoft Word documents contain a lot of hidden data, especially when edited by a number of different authors. Not so – the renegades at SCO reckon they can charge everyone with an existing Linux installation a license fee of $699, in order to help them run Linux “without violating SCO’s intellectual property rights”…. (read more)

W32/Mimail-A worm

According to Sophos, the W32/Mimail-A worm could be big. Might be due to kick off in a big way on Monday morning when everyone logs in, then again, that’s been threatened before, so maybe we’ll just have to wait and see. Then again, Sophos have issued an ’emergency alert’ about it, which is fairly uncommon…. (read more)
